The Art Factory – Supported Studio
The Art Factory was developed in 2016 in Wagga Wagga. As part of a national supported studio network that provides a framework for visual arts studios that support the professional development of artists with disabilities.
The Art Factory is a vibrant, creative arts studio.
The Art Factory is a supportive, sustained, creative, nurturing environment that fosters and supports the individual practice of visual artists with disabilities.
Each artist can be themselves and have autonomy in the studio.
The Art Factory provides each artist with support, guidance, mentoring, networks and career pathways. The studio is a non-directive, creative environment supporting artists to develop their own visual language under the expert guidance of the professional art practitioners. Artists can develop their professional skills and confidence in creating and speaking about art.

What we will do
- Encourage individual artistic expression and personal style
- Provide support and mentoring by our professional staff artists
- Broker art sales on your behalf
- Enter artworks into regional and national exhibitions, art prizes and awards
- Connect you with artists, studios and galleries
- Support you to create an artist biography and CV
- We will treat you and your work with respect and ensure that your artwork is always exhibited in a professional manner
- Provide high-quality materials
- Provide the opportunity to exhibit your work in a number of spaces and galleries throughout the year.
What experience do you need
- The Art Factory welcomes participants regardless of skills or previous experience
- If you have a passion for creative expression in visual arts The Art Factory can nurture your practice.
Art Factory Programs include:
- Monday Clay studio: 9:30 -2:30
- Tuesday Group: 9:30 – 2:30
- Wednesday Group: 9:30 – 2:30
- Thursday Group: 9:30 – 2:30
- Friday Group: 9:30 – 2:30
What’s the next step?
If you are interested in joining the Art Factory, please make an appointment with Leanne, the program coordinator. Potential artists will be shown around the studio and given comprehensive information about the Art Factory, including expectations and requirements of the artists.
You will then be asked to complete enrolment forms and organise your funding before you start in the Art Factory. We can assist you with the process.
Places are limited, so you may be put on a waiting list. We will then notify you should a place become available.
